Dedicated to aquaculture advancement and sustainable fishing practices along the Lake Victoria shoreline. Delivered primarily online, with participants gaining hands-on experience combining Earth Observation data, IoT sensors, and local knowledge into operational decision-support solutions for farms and aquaculture systems.

The pinnacle of the programme is a focused, on-site Hackathon where participants collaborate in an intensive innovation sprint with experts and stakeholders from across the Lake Victoria region and Europe.

Delivered through weekly live sessions every Thursday, starting at 3:00 PM East African Time (EAT) – interactive, applied, and expert-led.

Master spatial data fundamentals and remote sensing to monitor Earth's resources from orbit.

PREQUALIFICATION

Who should apply

Background in agriculture, environmental sciences, geoinformatics, ICT, engineering, data science, or a related field
Basic digital and data-handling skills
Motivation to work in interdisciplinary, international teams
Commitment to the full three-month programme, including the Hackathon

Participants will be selected for a balanced cohort of technical and agricultural expertise. Prior experience with GIS, coding, satellite data, or IoT is an advantage but not mandatory — curiosity, analytical thinking, and reliability matter most. As participation is free, selection is competitive
