Meet Michelle Wanjiru from Kisumu, Kenya – a Junior Developer, Backend and DevOps Engineer at Zone01 Kisumu and a participant in the KijaniSpace Talent Training Programme. In this personal story, Michelle shares her journey into technology, what motivates her to keep learning, and how she aims to use her skills to create meaningful solutions. She also reflects on the role of women in technology and the importance of encouraging more young women to participate, innovate, and lead in the digital sector.

The KijaniSpace Talent Training Programme supports young innovators from the Lake Victoria Basin by strengthening skills in Earth Observation, IoT, data-driven solutions, and space-enabled technologies for climate-smart agriculture and sustainable development. Michelle represents a new generation of African innovators combining technical skills, creativity, and local knowledge to address real-world challenges.
